Standard wireless industrial transceiver for point-to-point (AXM-232) and point-to-multipoint (AXM-232M), RS-232 serial communications applications. Used in locations classified as non-hazardous, by the National Electric Code (NEC). Includes standard 9" 3dB whip antenna, 20-foot RG-58 coax cable, weather seal wrap and 12Vdc power supply for immediate use in the field. Other custom cable, antenna and radio accessories available. Intended for indoor use only. Outdoor use is approved, when installed in an approved NEMA enclosure. Product available with optional DIN rail or stand-off mounting.

The AXM-232MAW or AXM-485MAW wireless industrial transceiver is an all weather version of the Axiom spread spectrum radio. Designed for use in product locations designated as non-hazardous by the National Electric Code. The product is used in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint applications where serial communications is required. The product provides NEMA 4 all weather protection of all electrical components and has been successfully used in numerous foul weather environments including shipboard marine applications. Includes standard 9" 3dB whip antenna, 20-foot RG-58 coax cable, weather seal wrap and power supply for immediate use in the field. Other custom cable, antenna and radio accessories available. Intended for indoor or outdoor use, for all area classified as non-hazardous.
The AXM-232MX or AXM-485MX wireless industrial transceiver is an explosion-proof version of the Axiom spread spectrum radio. Approved for use in areas classified by the National Electric Code (NEC) as Hazardous (Class 1, Division 1, Groups C & D). The product is used in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint applications where serial communications is required. Includes standard 9" 3dB whip antenna, 20-foot RG-58 coax cable, weather seal wrap and power supply for immediate use in the field. Other custom cable, antenna and radio accessories available. All electronic circuitry are mounted in a hazardous area approved enclosure. Product is CSA Certified and NRTL listed. (UL specifications: 508, 913, 1203).

 

Advantage of Using Axiom Data Spread Spectrum Telemetry

The typical range for many field applications is 1 to 7 miles, however, the AXM series has been effectively used up to a maximum range of 15 mile, under optimum conditions. Spread spectrum telemetry requires no FCC license and no FCC site approval prior to use, as required by conventional radio communication techniques. The product may be used in applications where new field devices are being installed, or it may be used to replace aged serial communication wiring, as found with many pre-existing field systems. End users often find Axiom Data spread spectrum products enhance overall communication reliability and eliminate electrical problems between field devices by providing electrical isolation.
